This is Rombo, the two year old elephant I am fostering at The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. You can see his tiny tusks starting to emerge. He was found with spear wounds to his ear and shoulder on August 27th. His mother had been slain by poachers and little Rombo had been spotted visiting her corpse. It is well documented that elephants mourn the loss of their family members, and will stand by to protect one who is injured or dying. Below is the video of Romo's rescue.

Wow. How cool. The girls want to do something now too. How do we find out about it? And can you follow the recovery and reintroduction into the wild? I was thinking as a Christmas gift. Keep us posted as to Rombo's life. He is so cute.
