Peggy and Pauly remain well. I am coming to learn that Peggy and Pauly have very different personalities. Yesterday when I got home from work, I went up to the window to say hi to Peggy. She was very overprotective and was pecking the window with her beak until I walked away. At around 5:50pm, Pauly flew up and Peggy flew away. Pauly seems to be much more comfortable with my presence.

Frank

Now Lori, seeing you as the nest destroying intruder, I think I would describe Peggy's behavior as merely protective, rather than overly so. Those eggs must be moments away from hatching, don't you think?

Michele Kelly

No idea that Pauly would sit on the eggs too. Do pigeons mate for life like many other birds?

Kim

Hi Frank,

I'm afraid this might be a case of utter "Columba-ism", as Peggy looks quite fetching with her emerald neckerchief on:-).

Warm regards...

Frank

I thought the same thing after posting my comment. She is striking a striking pose as well. But I do think Pauly (love the name) is more unusual.

Lori

The time that Pauly, Peggy and I have spent together has been difficult....we are sharing a small amount of space. My window is right near my bed and next to my closet, so while I try not to intrude on their space often, sometimes i do need to be in that area of my bedroom.

I completely agree with your comment Frank ...I did try to deter them from building a nest several times before, I guess I wouldn't like me either. Better late then never, I am doing my best now to provide them with a safe environment.

The babies should be coming any day now if my calculations serve me correct.

Frank

I hope you know I was joking Lor. I mean that Peggy is rather stupid to rebuild her nest where it had been twice destroyed. I think by the time you and I are done with those babies they will be hand tamed. I cannot wait to name them...

Lori

I know you are kidding ...but really, who keeps coming back to a place they are not welcome.

I am starting to wonder when these little ones are going to join the family ...i think they are almost overdue. Might I have to induce them? j/k.

Frank

Ha! Let's get crackin'!!!

Abigail

I am in suspense for the momentous birth. Female birds are usually so ugly compared to the males...oh well!
